Wirkungsbooster Nr.9: „Schlechte Daten? Gute Nachrichten." Wie gehe ich mit unerwarteten Wirkungsdaten um?

"Bad data? Good news." How do I deal with unexpected impact data?

You invested time in surveys, evaluated them carefully – and the results don't show what you hoped for. What now?

Before you get into communication stress: Negative data is not the end. It is often the most valuable thing you can take away from an impact survey – if you know how to read and use it. Sometimes it's due to the method, sometimes to the wrong indicator, sometimes it really shows what doesn't work. All of this can be learned. And communicated.

In this session, we will illuminate both sides: What do disappointing data really say – and how do you talk about it? In the team, with project management, towards funding partners or volunteers.

You will take away:

  • A tool to "read" negative results: Is it due to the survey, the intervention, or does the result show something important?

  • Concrete communication strategies for different audiences

  • More confidence in dealing with critical findings – and why honesty builds trust in the long run

Please feel free to bring: A concrete example from your project work – a situation where impact data turned out to be surprising or disappointing (or you fear it will). Two to three sentences are enough: What did you measure, what did you expect, what did you get? Feel free to use a modified version (fictional/anonymized) – the cases will be treated confidentially.
